Forgiveness

The Lord placed it on my heart to share with you that it is not a part of his plan for anyone to harbor pain, hurt or resentment. With that being said, no one ever said life would not, at some point, present situations that would lead us to any of these feelings. What truly matters is how we acknowledge,  accept and associate these emotions.
 Colossians 1:16-17 states:
For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers or authorities all things were created through him and for him and he is before all things and in him all things hold together.
No matter what you are faced with, God already knew about it and he knows exactly what's on the other side; But we have to have faith that he knows what's best for us and that he would never ever put more on us than we can bear. Notice it states that all things were created through him and FOR him. God had a plan all along; Your getting hurt was just a part of it, unfortunately. Whether it was to make you a better person or the offender a better person, God had a plan in it all along. For example, you could take what you have learned from your experience and minister to other people who may be going through the same exact thing.
I know first hand that when someone hurts you it's hard to forgive and let it go because you feel like that person needs to pay. But, in hindsight you're only getting in your own way. Romans 12:19 States:
Beloved, never avenge yourselves but leave it to the wrath of God for it is written vengeance is mine I will repay, saith the Lord.
So remember although we feel like we might be doing everything in our power to get back at that person we can't even begin to scrape the surface of the magnitude of things that God can do. Plus you will personally feel a whole lot better. The Bible also talks about a person that harbors resentment and unforgiveness. Until you let go of your unforgiveness, you can't make a true connection with God even through your prayers. How do you expect him to listen to your prayers and grant you all the desires of your heart and to forgive you for your sins when you can't even forgive your brother or your sister?
I hope that I was able to help someone with this message. God wants us to feel peace in our hearts; not sorrow and pain. So whatever you're holding onto that is stopping you from reaching your true connection with God, let it go today and give it to him. Trust me you'll feel a whole lot better!  Have a blessed day everyone and remember you should love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. :-)
